Our latest paper is out! Introducing the #PREGCARE (PREcision Genetic Counselling And REproduction) study - published with Springer Nature Nature Communications - which demonstrates a transformative vision for precision reproductive genetic counselling: rdcu.be/c5HaG 🧵
It's 70 years since the structure of DNA was decoded, and last night on ITV News Meridian, James Davies discussed how decoding the human genome has transformed medicine: itv.com/news/meridian/… (about 17:51 on the clock)
Really pleased to share the detailed protocol for Micro Capture-C in nature protocols. It is capable of generating 3C data down to base pair resolution. jdavieslab Hangpeng Li Joseph Hamley MRC MHU MRC WIMM rdcu.be/c8GWN
Today we report in Nature Biomedical Engineering ex vivo prime editing of blood stem cells from sickle cell disease (SCD) patients, followed by transplantation into mice, correcting the SCD mutation to wild-type hemoglobin and rescuing SCD blood abnormalities. drive.google.com/file/d/11dcKAt… 1/12
The Huntly lab CRUK Cambridge Centre: Haematological Malignancies has an opening for a research associate in bioinformatics. Great science, tonnes of data and a lovely team. Please RT. jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/40423/
In 2016 I looked after a girl who died during a transplant for HbE beta-thalassaemia. I am overwhelmingly pleased that we have been able to correct HbE with near 100% efficiency using base editors. nature.com/articles/s4146… Brilliant work from Mohsin Badat Mohsin Badat jdavieslab
We are excited to share our recent work mapping the host response to sepsis at single-cell resolution. The study, led by Andrew Kwok and published in Nature Immunology, identifies a subset of immature neutrophils which is increased in severe sepsis. Big thanks to everyone involved!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 MAJIC study published in Journal of Clinical Oncology Ruxolitinib (rux) Versus Best Available Therapy (BAT) for Polycythemia Vera (PV) Intolerant or Resistant to Hydroxycarbamide (HC) in a Randomized Trial ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JC…
Our work from my master’s project exploring cytosine base editors for gene editing in Drosophila is now published Science Advances (my first first-authorship🎉) science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… There are several additions since the preprint, so read along for a 🧵with the main points:
Today we report in Cell a suite of engineered and PACE-evolved prime editor variants PE6a-g. These new prime editors improve the activity, in vivo deliverability, and in vivo editing efficiency of prime editing. sciencedirect.com/science/articl… PDF:drive.google.com/file/d/11959ct… (1/15)
Very exited to share that our work showing the importance of SOX2 pioneer activity for gene activation has now been published in The EMBO Journal. Excellent work from MichEla and Teun van den Brand. And a nice collaboration with James Davies (+lab). embopress.org/doi/full/10.15…
Very happy and honored to present our work from my postdoc project in Noordermeer lab 🇺🇦 lab I2BC Paris-Saclay on CTCF clustering at TAD boundaries and the novel multi-contact 3C assay: Nano-C – now published Nature Communications. nature.com/articles/s4146…. A nice 🧵 written by Daan 👇
New Nature Medicine paper from Boston Children's Wellcome Sanger Institute and York Biomedical Research Institute on clonal dynamics of HSCs pre- and post-gene therapy. 👍 Alyssa Cull Mike Spencer Chapman 👍 Gracious for both the funding and the network connectively from Gates Foundation nature.com/articles/s4159…
Delighted to see this great News & Views article written by Jim R. Hughes and James Davies on our recent GAGE-seq paper Nature Genetics -- Single-cell technologies meet Hi-C. A fantastic read! nature.com/articles/s4158…
