1 of 4 >Rooting for the team who gets 5 months of baseball weather in a good year, who, due to our 6,000km width, is never able to practice together,& whose sport has too long been considered as not much more than a bridge between hockey seasons #WBCanada #WBC2023 Baseball Canada 🇨🇦⚾️

4 of 4 > Hey Walks, Justin, Stubby, FERGIE, got anything left in the tank? Seriously, be assured that nobody will will out-hustle or out-work our home-and-native-landers. Goh Canada!🇨🇦⚾️❤️ #wbcanada #wbc2023 Baseball Canada 🇨🇦⚾️

3 of 4 > Don’t blame our studhammers for taking a pass, e.g., J-Nay, Vottolikelotto, Pivettavendetta, Romanoamano, Guerrerokilamanjaro, they’ve given, & got their reasons, but we just don’t have the depth chart like they do south of the 49th. #wbcanada #wbc2023 Baseball Canada 🇨🇦⚾️

BJs-GREAT response after hardest loss since Vlady's non-stretch for Semien's throw w/2 out in 9th. Knowing your top 4 pen guys were no-goes, why let Swanson give up 4, then White lose it? Ryu & likely Gausman/Menoah had pens slated anyway? 100+ games in, Thurs off - it's GO time!

Check the time of this tweet so nobody thinks I am hindsighting. If Romano is the Jay’s best pitcher in relief, why is he not coming in now with the bases loaded and the score 3-1, nobody out? Let Swanson pitch the ninth, who cares, why not use your best reliever NOW?? 9:02pm

I couldn’t be happier that Swanson got out of the jam, but still don’t agree with the move. This season is running out. and if Romano had given up runs, I wouldn’t regret it. But if Swanson gave up runs I would absolutely have regretted. So he should’ve inserted Romano.

Phil Nevin, didn’t your Little League coach say if the strike-2 pitch was close enuf for the ump to make a mistake, you should have swung? Haven’t seen you that angry since seeing you punch out a Coke machine in Lakeland 25 yrs ago. Leopards don’t change their spots, you big baby!

Saves were created by & for scorekeepers. If a starter throws a complete game, then why can't he get a Win, a Save, & why not throw in a Hold as well, when applicable? Most importantly, it's not Schneider's job to get Romano the most saves, it is to get the most wins, period.

According to Andy at Baseball Reference, an avg of less than 1/20 (5%) of 9th-inning leads were blown over a 50-year period baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/… SABR's Pete Palmer concluded that having a closer might add an avg of one more win per year sabr.org/.../relief-pit… See next ...

The graphic in the following Tweet was made in a study of a hundred+ years, 1912-2015, by David Smith. Firstly, the chance of a team starting the 9th inning in a save situation is essentially unchanged (about 25%). retrosheet.org/Research/Smith…

Kevin Glew A magical year indeed Kevin, and so many special players. Your ‘84 was my ‘68, but honestly, and it seems impossible to believe that 48 years have passed, but the most glorious baseball year in MLB was clearly ‘76, thanks to Mark “The Bird” Fidrych❤️🙏 facebook.com/share/v/uV9hAw…

You heard it here first: Cavan Biggio will play in an MLB All-Star Game! June 7, 2024. His swing will play, he’s smart, he’s fast, and can play anywhere. Just wait for someone to let him play 150 games!
