I just can’t stop thinking about this sentence from Emily Cipriano reflection “A culture and climate of inquiry is one that will be open to making mistakes, learning from challenges, and as I recently learned…will help turn breakdowns into breakthroughs” 🙌🏼 #edlr5402

Four Agreements: 1) stay engaged 2) speak your truth 3) experience discomfort 4) expect and accept non-closure #3 is huge - “why can’t you be uncomfortable?” - thank you for posing this question Dr. Wilson! #edlr5402 #getuncomfortable

Remember when having difficult conversations, especially about race and equity, as educators you can ground that conversation in data and evidence, lines of questioning, and the benefits for children #edlr5402

Diversity is as diverse as the word implies. Let’s remind ourselves not to to forget all it’s different forms in education. And be humble enough to listen when we have overlooked a difference and do the work to advocate for all our students and staff. #EDLR5402

In thinking about the upcoming school year, I can’t help but feel an excitement for getting back with the kids but also having this new perspective as a school leader. What are you excited to be a part of in an administrative role?! #EDLR5402

Don’t shy away from work revolving equity - no matter where you feel you are on the journey. Just remind yourselves this work is important for current and future students and continue to work. Always #forthekids #EDLR5402

Fishbowl #1 brought so many reflective comments to the forefront! “Equity work can’t be ‘taboo’ or ‘bad’ topics of conversations in schools” - @Ash03091808 #absolutely We as educators need to define why this work is important! #edlr5402

Teachers are more motivated when their administration supports them, values them, and encourages them. Guess when students are more motivated.

It’s not enough to do equity nope 👎  If equity is all about meeting the individual needs of all of the learners in the classroom, then equity can’t solely be something that you do. It must, emphatically, be who you are 🙌🏽💯.
