We can’t get at critical race theory in our schools without critical professional development. We need the dialogue, we need the shared leadership we need to meet our community where it’s at. #EDLR5402

We talk so much about the importance of building a trusting community for our kids, but so little for our staff. Who are we to assume we have the right to another’s trust just because they are paid to do a job ? #edlr5402

If we have to work to create buy-in did we do the work of effective communication, trust building, and taking into account other perspectives? Should we have to work to creat buy-in or should it happen because of how we set up our community? #EDLR5402

Inquiry as a stance teaches us to be cyclical in our professional space. Progress has no end. Improving is never done! #EDLR5402

“Institutions of learning and the classroom itself reproduce the power structure found in society at large.” Reminds me of Dr.Hill schools are built to recreate what is currently in society. -We need to do better #EDLR5402

Tolerance isn’t enough it seems like a fancy word for “I’m not ready or willing to take a stand” as leaders we cannot afford to be tolerant. We must be dynamic agents for equity. #EDLR5402

Diversity is as diverse as the word implies. Let’s remind ourselves not to to forget all it’s different forms in education. And be humble enough to listen when we have overlooked a difference and do the work to advocate for all our students and staff. #EDLR5402

It all starts with a conversation. We have to come together. We have to be authentic. We have to listen to understand. Only them can progress be made. #EDLR5402

Never thought about the need to differentiate teacher prep programs to support different cultures. It makes complete sense, as we work to do this for our students. Why does that change for adults? #EDLR5402
