"Here in the UK, if any difference is to be made to school performance, it is clear that social policy rather than educational policy needs the most attention": interesting international insights from Lancaster University: buff.ly/2JrhRyH
Thanks to Laura McInerney and her wise counsel this week. She gave me a brilliant book and the last page might be useful to you right now @TheHopefulHT Thoughts on navigating a crisis:
Heading down to London (almost in my usual seat!) for a full day tomorrow of @TeachSchCouncil meetings with the Council & Department for Education Always inspiring, often challenging, never dull!! Bring it on!
@Robt_Hill Damian Hinds Interesting question @Robt_Hill I suspect much of the announcement this morning was political legacy stuff and won’t amount to significant changes in school provision in reality.
"Don't spend money on grammars when the arts are being wrecked": a powerful The Guardian editorial on where the government's' educational priorities should lie: buff.ly/2rD0z6R

Delighted to launch think piece with Leora Cruddas CBE "Where next for the self-improving system?" Getting System Governance Right. An honest contribution to the direction of travel. tscouncil.org.uk/where-next-for…
Its been such a pleasure working with you Andrew Warren on this think piece. x.com/AndrewWarrenUK…
Nick MacKenzie @TeachSchCouncil Andrew Warren @BJEducationLaw @FASNAvoice Gill Robinson OBE FCCT MA Lesley Curtis WM School Led Conf Mr Chris Wheatley OBE Teresa Tunnadine CBE Simon Cowley Research Schools Network EEF I agree. TSAs are key enablers but there are others worth highlighting. Maths Hubs, HEIs, Research Schools to name a significant few. TSAs have always worked with others but system continues to add capacity and expertise. Evidence matters.
