The lesson I learned is that you can wildly, drastically improve brain interconnectivity and neuroplasticity by being obsessed with practicing a skill that you’re absolutely terrible at, for two months

Age is irrelevant.

Neuroplasticity is an amazing thing – it is your brain’s ability to adapt due to experience.

So, you can rewire your brain at any age.

The excuse “I’m too old” is just that: an excuse.

Its sort of funny how you can tell almost the exact year a soylennial's neuroplasticity wears out by what year their posting is stuck in.

You will get better at anything you spend more time doing.

Either positive or negative.

Your brain was built that way.

It’s called, neuroplasticity.

You have a substance abuse problem because of neuroplasticity in your basal fore brain. It has nothing to do with moral, ethical or character flaws. Only way to fix this is to reverse said neuroplastic change through abstinence and following systems.

Did you know that we can keep the brain young through our daily activities? Maintaining neuroplasticity with age is so important for staying sharp. Neuroplasticityis the brain’s ability to adapt and reorganize in response to new experiences, learning, and environmental changes.

Lactate generated during intense exercise signals to the brain to make BDNF

• BDNF a growth factor for new neurons in the hippocampus, which is important for learning & memory

• BDNF improves neuroplasticity — the brain's ability to adapt to changing environments

everyone should speak at least 5 languages to develop neuroplasticity so if they develop dementia later in life (or earlier) regions of the brain adjacent to the lesion(s) can take over abilities from the damaged areas. You can gain up to an extra 10 years normal life this way.

Neuroplasticity is essential for improving symptoms of neuropsychiatric disorders.

This new research demonstrates that mitochondrial fusion is critical to this process.

Mitochondria are much more than powerhouses.

That people who have strokes can only make recovery in the first few months.

Not true! Neuroplasticity can happen for a lifetime. You just have to work

TIL about the concept of a 'teachability index'

My company hired some ex CIA nigga as a consultant

This guy really tried convincing me that the reason children learn so quickly was cuz they're 'more willing to', not cuz of neuroplasticity or any legitimate scientific reason 😹
