Above the last of the wheat and corn, a full moon proudly shone. Hare was grateful and glad for the season's change, the year she'd had. Her golden fields would be replaced with first frost and winter's reign. But not tonight, just sometime soon. Tonight she had her Harvest Moon.

This shows what could be done in so many more cities and towns to boost biodiversity and help pollinating insects. RT if you’d like to see more healthy green spaces like this beautiful wildflower meadow at King's College, Cambridge at Cambridge University 🐝

Lovely haul of different squashes to try from local market garden. Will test them all with the recipe booklet from the market garden. I'll keep seeds for sprouting & sowing next year. I'll share my findings!

What a lovely job on a wet late October afternoon. Collected fresh herbs and hung in bouquets in the kitchen. Smells wonderful and will be used thru winter.

British gardens combined cover more land than all our nature reserves put together. Making them more wildlife-friendly will really help ensure wildlife's existence in the future. 🌻Leave a wild corner and allow leaves to rot down on borders. Make a log pile or pop in a pond!!!

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. RT if you agree 🌳

Have you ever wondered why Horse Chestnut buds are so sticky? Well the story goes that the Fairy King caught a naughty gnome smearing glue where he shouldn’t, so forevermore he was tasked with painting the buds with his glue to protect them through the #winter! #FolkloreThursday
