Whilst there are many positives the early years sector is in crisis, the sector is split and in conflict with itself, wages are very low and set to remain so for many years , people leaving the sector and many students studying ecec do not want to work in the sector and much more

A useful read with lots of insight into ECEC educator retention. Interesting to read that in Ireland, ECEC is considered an attractive profession

Parents have highlighted a number of leaflets being handed out in Limerick this week which have the appearance of legitimate organisations. We urge everyone to fact check the information they receive. This can be tricky today but here are a few tips:

4 years ago we met with Anne Rabbitte in Leinster house ,(pre-election) to discuss the removal of targeted funding from services that support disadvantages/ marginalised children. 4 years later we've still nothing & 40% of com service say it affects their financial visibility

Today MIC remembers Ashling Murphy. She was a teacher, a dedicated sportsperson and a talented musician. We were lucky to count her as one of our students.

So after 1.5 hours of work it's refusing so save or allow me to move on (or back) so I lost it and need to redo the page again. System is not fit for purpose.

Pobal @dcediy @capaco Roderic O’Gorman TD ACP Ireland National Childhood Network National Community Childcare Forum @BigStartIreland So Employees ID/ hourly rates of pay can be migrated from the service profile into the Pobal early years survey, why could they not migrate all the other information as well. The point of the hive was to cut down on administration and streamline the system. no consultation again

Infosys owned by Rishi Sunak's wife and father-in-law is being given a £250m NHS contract and a £560m financial services contract. Once such corruption would have been illegal. Now it takes play every day, we need to stop it.
