The NCCF held a very open and honest conversation today RE: Core Funding and JLC. While there are valid concerns, the Community Forum are feeling optimistic that we can overcome these and this additional funding is a welcome investment in the sector. Roderic O’Gorman TD National Childhood Network

Very productive and positive meeting with Ombudsman for Children Dr Neil Muldoon to discuss the detrimental effects government policy is having on ECEC & SAC children and their families in areas of disadvantage. Looking forward to linking in again. #NoChildleftbehind
Did you know unless BOM have regular/ frequent contact with children they legally can't be Garda vetted & there's legal jeopardy for services that gain vetting they shouldn't possess. Yet Tusla - Child and Family Agency want BOM vetted for registration. Roderic O’Gorman TD vetting legislation needs amending!
Delighted to be part of a very lively discussion as part of the Equal Participation Model @dcediy . The need for a model underpinned by a cohesive approach to services ,children &families is palpable National Childhood Network Crann Support Group Lelia Murphy Annette Coyle Mick Kenny Northside FRC
Great article in The Irish Times on how the current ECEC SAC system is failing disadvantage & marginalised children, leaving them in a more vulnerable position. We need the government to ensure that policy adheres to children's rights, welfare and wellbeing irishtimes.com/ireland/social…
Productive meeting today with Roderic O’Gorman TD at the Dail to highlight grassroots needs of disadvantaged children/ families & the need for more meaningful resources for ECEC/SAC services to meet the complex needs we encounter on a daily basis. Thanks Kathleen Funchion SF for facilitating
We had an opportunity to meet with Roderic O’Gorman TD today to share our experience in delivering quality EYS within communities who experience disadvantage. Highlighting need for additional resources is critical & should be informed by grassroots practitioners, children&families 🙌
