We hope you're enjoying the #VEDay75 celebrations from the comfort of your home. If it's any consolation, the 100th BG spent VE Day confined to Thorpe Abbotts. Beer, games, and home-made fireworks were the order of the day! #VEDayAtHome #VEDay

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that the museum will NOT be opening this season. We have looked at safe practices, government guidelines and consulted with our volunteers and have come to the decision that we can not safely open to the general public this year.

While we are unable to open again this year for visitors, lots of our volunteers have been busy ensuring that the museum stays in top condition for when we are able to welcome our visitors back in 2021 #volunteers #Norfolk Click the link to find out more: ow.ly/IzFE50AgG1w

We're working hard to keep the museum looking its best until we can welcome everyone back next year. Here Ron and Reg discuss the logistics of a new display in the engine shed, plus a beautiful picture of the roses in our memorial garden #WW2 #Norfolk #Volunteers

One of the codes being broken at Bletchley Park was called 'JMA' - Japanese Military Attaché. This code was used by Attachés in the Japanese consulates and embassies around Europe 🇯🇵 The messages included a lot of intelligence about Germany too⬇️ #BletchleyParkVJDay75 #VJDay75

Given today's news about the discoveries made at the National Trust's Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk, a brief thread about why we were there, and what was found. It isn't every day you recover medieval manuscripts, Tudor books, and C16th clothing from beneath the floor. #Thread

Last weekend would have been our final open day of the season. It hasn't quite worked out the way we planned but we will welcome everyone back when it's safe. Hopefully these snaps of the museum grounds in the Autumn sunshine will tide you over until you can visit us in person.

Once again Covid-19 has stopped services across the world and we are advised to “remember” at home. So the Control Tower stands as a silent tribute to all who gave everything. 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum Remembers... #RemembranceDay #RememberanceSunday #WW2
