Thanks to London Fire Brigade for helping us with someone stuck in a lift - after the hopeless freeholder and management company had cancelled the contract with the engineers you ring if you get stuck. The lift apparently breaks all the time. Such bad practice - will be taking further.

A warning that hasn't been listened to even in the UK. Hundreds of thousands of people are STILL trapped in dangerous homes. A national disgrace.

As someone who has lived in a flammable building since Grenfell happened, this hits so hard. #EndOurCladdingScandal #BuildingSafetyCrisis

Channel 4 news speaks to a resident of the Grenfell Tower ahead of the inquiry report who says, ‘people are still going to sleep in unsafe buildings seven years after Grenfell’.

The horror 7 years ago still lives with so many of us, and those directly affected will be finding today so hard. Everything failed them, especially a failure to listen and empower residents, and to live up to any public service ethos. I hope now justice for Grenfell is coming.💚

🚨 Grenfell Inquiry report 🚨 - "Complacent" govt "well aware" of risk of cladding disaster but failed to act - "Systematic dishonesty" by product manufacturers "very significant reason" for fire - "Chronic and systemic" fire safety failures by tower's social landlords

"The legacy of Grenfell needs to bring about change" says Grenfell inquiry panel. "If you are in the construction industry and do not feel the weight of responsibility...you are in the wrong job." It concludes: "The safety of a building needs to be prioritised."

Before the Gove era of implementing *some* protections for leaseholders, Robert Jenrick actively blocked funding to remediate unsafe buildings & told us 'caveat emptor'. How you are not ashamed to stand in parliament & speak to the Grenfell Inquiry report is astounding.

Every Grenfell death was avoidable. When are those responsible going to be held accountable? #Grenfell #BuildingSafetyScandal

This is about power - those who have it and those who don’t. Those who are given the benefit of the doubt and those who are ignored. Those believed and those not. itv.com/news/2024-09-0…

Thank you to Lewis Goodall and emily m The News Agents for speaking to me about #EndOurCladdingScandal earlier today. Lewis in particular has been with us all the way on marches and even to my flat in the last 7 yrs. Support much appreciated 🙏 open.spotify.com/episode/0C370Z…

Karim visited my block of flats once. He noted it made him go cold thinking about what I was saying about the lifts breaking down and the managing company not listening to our concerns, likening it to Grenfell. #BuildingSafetyCrisis

Sophie Bichener (@sophielb1) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Rightly so. We can't just accept risk when so many corrupt and vile individuals have gamed the system to trap us in our homes. This is not how 'the system' should work. This is why so many leaseholders have switched off from trusting institutions and the govt
