Durante su visita a Colombia, el director mundial de salud y migración de World Health Organization (WHO), Severoni Santino, se reunió con el viceministro de salud, Jaime Urrego, quien destacó la importancia de que el país sea sede de la Escuela Global de Migración y Salud, en 2024.

Building a long-standing collaboration, we discussed future activities to enhance public #health initiatives, training, and capacity building to benefit the health of #migrants . 💡

Had an insightful meeting yesterday with Hon Dr Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero Ministry of Health- Uganda. Excited for what's to come as we work for #HealthForAll , including #refugees and #migrants .

A team from World Health Organization (WHO) Health and Migration Program is in country to conduct a Refugee and Migrants Health Country assessment. This is to review health system and essential public health functions, capacities to provide essential health services for refugees and host communities.

The outcome of this assessment is to support the development of informed and evidence-based health interventions that build on existing capacities, appreciate gaps and opportunities contributing to reduction of morbidity, mortality and health inequity among refugees and migrants.

#Uganda is home to 1.5 million refugees from DRC, Somalia, Burundi etc. Of these 94% live in settlements across 13 host districts while 6% live in Kampala.
