How it all started and the effort-is emblematic of how @lincolnRestler tackles an issue: One evening, we joined @lincolnRestler for a Councilman On Your Corner where he heard from numerous residents their top concerns. Rats were the number 1 issue raised: x.com/WMSBG/status/1…

Councilman Restler then secured funds in the budget for extermination. and started to meet with us and Chaveirim on a plan to address it. x.com/UnitedJewish/s…

The councilman also brought down the rat czar with other city agencies for a walk through in the area, to discuss strategies how to address the infestation. x.com/UnitedJewish/s…

He then met with Building Management to discuss how to improve garbage and other conditions, and contacted city and private owners re specific issues that had to be addressed. x.com/WMSBG/status/1…

Recently he met Yeshiva administrators in the area with NYC Sanitation, to discuss better garbage containerization, and they are following up with private visits to help each yeshiva find the best way to improve trash storage and pick up x.com/UnitedJewish/s…

Great to be with Governor Kathy Hochul for the announcement of a new larger round of funding for Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes.

Rabbi Niederman UJO of Williamsburg and North Brooklyn joined today Governor Kathy Hochul and leaders announcing the opening of applications for 70 Million dollars of Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes applications for shuls, Yeshivas and other institutions.

Fighting hate requires more than words — it requires action, investment, and commitment. 
Our Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes program is investing up to $70 million to keep New Yorkers safe.  Because when we stand together, hate cannot divide us.
