Today saw the start of our fast track hip & knee replacement pathway.

We performed 5 joint replacements of which 2 are now recovering at home, with the remaining 3 home tomorrow.

A great start - onwards & upwards!

Very eloquent blog from lucy gossage as to why even an oncologist (cancer doctor) chooses to strike today. For the long term gain to the NHS rather than the short term pain of the strikes… #consultantstrike

People perceive Drs as well paid - and they are / were… but does that mean they should take pay cuts year on year?

A sad but true reflection of our NHS. I’m still enthused to effect change & improvement for patients / in systems, but sadly find myself in a minority of clinicians wanting / willing / able to engage in meaningful senior hospital management decisions. The NHS workforce is broken.
