Tomorrow, Oct 21st, marks 57 years since the Aberfan disaster. We are thinking about those whose lives were taken that day and those caught up in the tragedy. We are also remembering the injustices that were done to the community and its perseverance in the face of adversity.

Today we mark 54 years since the earthquake of 1970 that destroyed much of central Peru and caused a landslide that buried the town of Yungay. Generations later, recovery and reconstruction is ongoing.
