Climate change: This is the moment to act. “...There needs to be a ‘wisdom of enough’. In a world that already demands more from the planet than it can give, ‘enough’ can only mean exercising restraint...” . What stops us from getting our act together? churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2020/…

It was a real treat to be back at a Sage concert last night and RNS came up with a thrilling programme of old and new - from Mozart to Jessie Montgomery’s ‘Strum’, with Jean Francaix’ double bass concerto. Congratulations to all! #livemusic

Unexpected winter wonderland brought great joy this afternoon. I wonder what unexpected joy you have experienced today? #ComfortAndJoy

Very concerned about the UK Government agreeing a licence to allow neonicotinoids to be used on sugar beet in England. This bee-killing pesticide is so poisonous it is banned by the EU. Bees are vital for pollination & we need the highest ecological standards in a post-Brexit UK.

If you missed these words by Simon Armitage being read on BBC Radio 4 Today this morning, take a moment to read them here. They capture beautifully the preciousness of human life. Let’s keep praying for and loving each other.

Delighted that Graham Usher will be leading The Church of England's Environment Programme. We can already see the devastating effects of climate change around the world - my prayers are with Bishop Graham as he embarks on this vital role at a crucial time. churchofengland.org/news-and-media…

#FairtradeFortnight is a very good time to question. Costa uses its own Foundation, the Rainforest Alliance and Responsible Sourcing - but the Co-op make other claims. Indeed I am disappointed and surprised, and confused.

Here was someone who, having just conducted a full concert programme , would sit down and accompany the soloist in a Brahms sonata, just for the love of it. May Lars rest in peace. theguardian.com/music/2022/sep…

If you enjoyed the fabulous musicianship at the coronation, please remember: we won't get this in future if we keep garrotting music in schools. Education is about everything that enriches human life, not just expanding GDP.

I just took part in The Big Plastic Count, as we’re still producing far too much plastic. Robbie Moore MP, will you lead the way at the negotiations for a Global Plastics Treaty and push for a cut in production of at least 75% by 2040?
