Very important for all OU Students to remember. I know it is hard, and I have taken things personally at times, but the tutors are doing this to help you and make your marks better.

A simple revision booklet for A Christmas Carol. There are three parts to it: 1⃣ A summary of each stave 2⃣ Discussion questions 3⃣ A basic Cornell notes template douglaswise.co.uk/blog/a-christm… 👻

There is a massive chunk of the human population that purely runs on feelings, and possesses minimal critical, independent thinking skills. It's quite scary once you realise it.

Prof Dr Kevin Fong giving the most devastating and moving testimony to the Covid Inquiry of visiting hospital intensive care units at the height of the second wave in late Dec 2020. The unimaginable scale of death, the trauma, the loss of hope. Please watch this 2min clip.

Come and visit us at our Open Evening on Thursday 24 October (5.30 - 7.30pm). Annually 30% of our students are New to Heathfield in Year 12. They contribute significantly to our Sixth Form Community and our induction programme supports them to settle in quickly. #community

See the recent report I wrote for The Sutton Trust on how the last few decades of education reform have seen improved outcomes, particularly in maths. (But that we're struggling much more with pastoral support and the disadvantage gap) suttontrust.com/our-research/l…

Hi all, Starting next term, we’ve paid some highly respected edu-celebrities to come into The Academy to provide some Ofsted Training CPD. They’ll tell us we’re doing great, sell us their latest book, cash the cheque and disappear leaving us requiring improvement again. Thanks x

It's perhaps a nice thing to believe and encourage interest, but that's about it. It's the same with the other things people say like flower petals are always a Finonacci number, they aren't just look around in spring and you'll see plenty of 4 petal flowers.

The amount of planning and curriculum development that schools up and down the country are doing is a national travesty a colossally bad use of national infrastructure and resources

Reading a BBC report titled ‘students express anxiety over toilet breaks’. Apparently, a new survey found ‘65% of students were unable to access toilets at their school freely at any time’. I’ve worked in several schools, including my current one, where the culture is firmly set

Tom Rogers I’m sick of giving examples to students of times in life when you have to plan for not being able to go to the toilet and explaining that they have plenty of time at break and lunch
