Cadet force adult volunteer is far too open-ended. I’m a manager, teacher, PR Rep, administrator, coordinator, first-aider, instructor, cleaner and G4 all for free. It’s bloody hard and I’m exhausted.

Forking put a small mortgage to buy polo shirts, Chinos & Boat Shoes for our imaginary officers mess because I dare not break the dress code. For context, I got told off last year for putting an ACF jumper over my shirt, because I was cold. This is a hobby 👍🏻🫠 #volunteers

I’d like to stress, that although my last two tweets relating to the ACF have been mildly negative, I’m really proud to be an instructor and when it’s good, it’s amazing! It’s the behind the scenes that can be exhausting and mildly infuriating when we give so much to it!

A big weekend for me as Detachment Commander for Hurstpierpoint. Super proud of all my cadets parading for this year’s Remembrance Service. 🌹

In less than 12hrs I’ll be RMAS for the first IOT of 2024. Excited and nervous. A full circle since my time in the UOTC! A slightly different path, but one towards leadership nonetheless 💪🏻

This afternoon I’ve found out that I’ve passed the Interview and Assessment for LFB! 🥳🥳 So beyond proud of myself, absolutely buzzing!

On Thursday, we joined forces marching both No24 and No16 Platoon’s to mark 80years since D-Day. So proud of our cadets, well behaved and disciplined throughout. A true credit to Sussex ACF and their community.

Sometimes you have to give yourself a shoutout, because no one else will. Really proud to have finished my IOT as a member of the Army Cadet Force. 🥂 to the future of ACF.
