Much like Covid, when those who owned more than one home were given subsidies towards each property. Mad. Now, our entire country is in a “disguised recession” with billions owning (thanks to the former party). Pre 80s born babies never had it so good. No touch of reality…

If the election were held today, I believe Kamala Harris Vice President JD Vance would win comfortably. The polls don’t suggest this in part because the pollsters are so terrified of their false confidence in 2016 that they are making ever more implausible guesses on who might turn out for Trump.

Question 🙋‍♀️ internet: why are there no #roofs over #electric #charge points, to protect you from the elements, like they have in a standard ⛽️ #petrol station? Asking for a friend, who is currently getting drenched. Can shelters be placed over electric charge stations?

Very sad news. Such talent and so young. It’s lovely that the #princessofwales was able to offer her some opportunities and meet her. Only on Friday was she photographing on a Red carpet. Yorkshire photographer who impressed Princess of Wales dies aged 17 theguardian.com/artanddesign/2…

A reminder of a pretty etymology to brighten the day. The ‘daisy’ takes its name from the Old English ‘dæges ēage’, ‘day’s eye’, because it opens its petals at dawn, and closes them again at dusk.

So many friends successful in the Wimbledon ballot - some going years in a row. As a tennis player, with an LTA ranking in her youth, I’ve never once got lucky. What’s the secret? If you play and are an avid fan, does it actually go against you?! 😂

Lovely to hear the Woodland Trust talking about a ‘mast year’ on BBC Radio 4 Today - one in which our woods abound in nuts and acorns. ‘Mast’ in this sense meant a ‘feeding’ or ‘fattening’, because the fallen fruit of our beeches, oaks, and chestnuts was used as fodder for pigs.

Thousands of Ukrainian children have been abducted by Russia since Putin’s invasion.    I stood with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський today at the UN to focus the world's attention on these horrific war crimes — and to strengthen our international efforts to bring these children home.

Our October 2025 cover story dives into the rare genetic mutation known as pseudo-melanism which is carried by nearly half the tigers of Similipal and has left them with distinctly dark coats. While the mutation itself is harmless, its rapid spread indicates a limited gene pool.
