According to The Telegraph, there have been some unexpected developments in #NATO: #Portugal has apparently reclaimed the entire Iberian Peninsula (some 350 years after finally ejecting the Spanish)! By way of recompense #Spain appears to have acquired #France. #DiplomaticIncident
Admittedly, European politics was never a strong point for The Telegraph (save Peter Foster), but you have to wonder when the subs are back from their holidays? (And the idea behind #Brexit was not, as far as I understand it, that #Portugal should #takebackcontrol) James O'Brien
A grateful nation responds to the latest insights from Conservatives pro-growth bigly economic genius Liz Truss -- if only she'd been given the chance to absolutely bring the country to its knees! Liz For Leader Parody #conservativefailure #toryfailure
If only Wikipedia recorded #JenniferArcuri's birthday more precisely than 'born February 1985' (unless the PIN is '0285')? Enquiring on behalf of the Enquiry ... #BorisJohnsonphone #covidenquiry Carol Vorderman

'5 of the most interesting graveyards in #Scotland'--am I alone in finding this headline from The Times and Sunday Times travel section utterly underwhelming? Truly, the #sillyseason is upon us! And it seems entirely apposite that the first listed is the final resting place of William McGonagall.
And now, in the desperate scramble to find #brexit ‘benefits’ to suggest that pain has been worth it, the government has given up on any pretence of attempting to deal with the scandal of the UK’s polluted rivers! Feargal Sharkey #pollution #riverpollution
It's obviously been a scramble to get Friday's issue of The Times and Sunday Times online! Particularly enjoy 'Name name, Times senior foreign correspondent reporting from the streets around XXXX', which should cover many eventualities (it even includes some #loremipsum). #copyeditor #sillyseason
Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister seems quite keen to avoid further 'full and frank' analysis of Sunak's performance from Gillian Keegan ... #toryfailure #toryincompetence #RAAC Larry the Cat
An appropriate (if unintended) juxtaposition of advert and article in The Times and Sunday Times -- happily, the article explains how #Alexa hoovers your data! So that's all good.
I suspect that what The Times and Sunday Times meant to say is that this is a photograph of Albert Camus -- a pertinent illustration for a piece by Lol Tolhurst and accompanying article about The Cure -- by Henri Cartier-Bresson.
My original outrage was caused by the lèse majesté which Camus suffered at the hands of The Times and Sunday Times, but I now realise that they are also up their old trick of misspelling contributors' surnames! Please do Lol Tolhurst the basic courtesy of spelling his name correctly.
I'm not convinced that AndrewSparrow wrote this with an entirely straight face ... ! #LizTruss
More political flipfloppery at the #ConservativeConference -- apparently The Guardian's John Crace has been cancelled and then uncancelled, per AndrewSparrow!
