Article headline is totally misleading.

How about “when rostered pts go to walk in clinics family physicians are billed a fee”.

As I look around a healthcare system that continues to falter I'm left wondering about to improve our current state.

I see new ideas being proposed yet little changes

What I rarely see are existing, good ideas being scaled.

Scaling solutions is a missing focus in healthcare

Brain injury associated shock

An under appreciated phenomenon that I've observed on multiple occasions.

Difficult to dx upon arrival. We initially treat with the expectation that shock is due to hemorrhage.

Excellent to see this described.

I'm often asked about how stressful it is to work in the emergency dept.

I answer yes, but not for the reason ppl think

Patients near death when minutes matter...that's not stressful...it's what we do

A system that inadvertently makes work more difficult is why it's stressful

The current family doctor shortage in #Ontario is market economics in action

It's no longer economically feasible to practice family medicine

Humans are predictable. When things get too expensive, they'll stop doing that thing... this includes practicing family medicine 🤷‍♂️

I invite Sylvia Jones and Doug Ford to come and tell that to every patient in the ED that I see without a family physician or every patient I see waiting 6mo for a joint replacement.

It's abundantly clear the recruitment & retention of Ontario MDs is 'not a major concern'.
