Absolutely compelling data for minimum unit pricing (MUP) for alcohol.

For all the hardwork to improve AUD/ALD care, IMO nothing will be as simple and impactful as MUP.

It's time for all stakeholders, esp medical societies, to take a policy stand in support of MUP.

The increase in death rate from alcohol-specific causes was far lower in Scotland from 2018-2022 than in England.

Scotland's increase was 9%. England's 36%.

This is due to the Scottish Government introducing evidence-based prevention policies, such as Minimum Unit Pricing.

This is why I'm *really* worried about the record high alcohol-specific deaths figures that ONS published yesterday.

We modelled the impact of increases in drinking during the pandemic on health, and what's happened is much worse than our worst case scenario (those dots😬).
