Such a good initiative, because it involves residents in #bushfire risk areas with relevance to southern Australia. Residents can do a lot for themselves, eg near house cutting out, removing vegetation that will burn easily. Sadly governments promote native bushes - flammable!

It might take a long time to reduce climate change, but fuels in local forests and around towns can be reduced/removed quickly. Our local waste disposal site accepts vegetation that is best taken off residents’ property. It is turned into mulch and composted.
