In first 10 months of Ontario’s rapid test program, only 1/5 went to hotspots. Data obtained by Sara Mojtehedzadeh & Rachel Mendleson show tests mostly went to those with resources, knowledge or connections - like private schools & auto parts company Linamar: thestar.com/news/investiga…

As if you needed another reason to NOT vote for Lisa MacLeod and Doug Ford. Here's how they really feel about autism families and a not for profit organization with third party status and a legal right to have signs up on the grass. #VoteThemAllOut2022 #50KIsNotOk #50KIsNotOk

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson apologizes to residents for lack of relief funds, saying the city has spent all the money on its police force

For those who don't know; the name Ottawa comes from the Algonquin word Adàwe, meaning "to trade." Where Ottawa is now was a major trading hub for Indigenous folks from all over Turtle Island and accessible by waterways and is still unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin territory.

I am an immunologist. None of my fellow immunologists who are also scientists say this CBC News Data far from supports this statement. Covid infections have not gotten milder and each carries with it the risk of long Covid. Please retract this statement and article

It’s not that complicated. Vaccines, masks, and tests all reduce but don’t eliminate risk. Using multiple layers reduces risk more, and more people using them reduces risk more. Acknowledging that there is no magic wand isn’t anti-anything. It’s reality.

To be clear, "we strongly recommend masks indoors" = "we know that COVID-19 is airborne, we know it's not mild, we know the pandemic isn't over, but our courage falls short of mandating protections because the loud people will get mad at us if we do."

If Mark Sutcliffe wants to restore the public's trust in the transit system and how it is managed, and foster a culture of transparency and accountability, then he and the rest of Council should reject City staff's recommendation to remove Citizen Transit Commissioners.

Ottawa’s move to widen the Airport Parkway, which runs parallel to the O-Train Line 2 expansion, is fiscally irresponsible and flies in the face of sound transportation planning
