This is very interesting indeed. We have consistently seen evidence for relaxed selection during lymph node metastasis in human genetic data (nature.com/articles/s4158…) - this paper proposes a nice mechanism to explain these findings.

I was aware that DEI-related initiatives could become political targets. However, I never imagined that a grant, once awarded and actively running, would be canceled mid-stream. This is a move that, to my knowledge, is unprecedented outside of scientific misconduct cases. 4/15

For what it’s worth, this is not my experience. I am always stunned when the others’ scores are revealed to me - they mostly agree in principle, no matter how unique I thought my judgement was 😆 really has bolstered my confidence in the system to see this over and over.
