Too old to lift weights? No such thing! 84 years old, history of CVD and cancer and getting stronger every week. Don’t let age limit potential! #exerciseismedicine #exercisephysiology #strengthtraining @thebodyrehab Dr Claire Minshull (Patient consent given)

Rehabilitation should not cease when the therapist are not present, we need an MDT approach ⭐️ 12 Steps; the average number of steps a patient takes on a Rehab Ward at the weekend. Brian Dolan OBE, RMN, RGN #endpjparalysis

We need to redefine what 'getting better' means. Medics give us the foundations to get better. Physios and OTs give us the methods to get better. If we miss out on that we may not actually get better and we remain stuck in a mid-way place neither debilitated or better.

Deconditioning message Its been about for a while The longer the elderley frail stay in a hospital bed the more likely they are to 1. Decondition 2. Get readmitted within 30 days 3. Develop pressure ulcers 4. Mentally deteriorate 5. Loose focus and become institutionalised

If a patient is walking up and down the ward like they normally do, they don’t need a physio assessment. Not everyone needs PTOT
