One by one every single tree will be chopped in Bandra and this doomed city of Mumbai. Temperatures already rising upto 37 degrees in March is only the beginning. Ward HW BMC hope permissions are in place for felling these trees in private properties, or an FIR is surely

Our winters are shrinking, shifting, and spilling over. The latest data shows a startling trend. Indian winters are no longer the predictable seasons we once knew. The consequences are already evident in meltwater availability, forest-fire intensity and changes in flowering

It’s a welcome step. They should also do an assessment of how many trees have now come on the main road due to footpath width reduction and how tree’s root areas have been concretised ( a slow but sure death for those trees). Another data point, who takes care of these and when!

We should be planting trees all across the country on war footing. Instead we’re having to fight to save the existing ones we have from being cut. जिस डाल पर हैं बैठे , उसी को काट दीस #harakiri 💔

Mumbai is hot, no wonder the green cover is reduced by 42.5% over 30 years…12,446 hectares of green cover is lost larger than Sanjay Gandhi National Park💔💔💔

We did this simple experiment last year. As the temperature spikes across the country, one straightforward and effective solution is protecting and planting trees. Period. But guess what? We love complicating things. So we will keep talking about heat action plans,

87% of capex spent - ₹39,159 crore! ₹9,000+ crore on roads alone. Meanwhile: BEST Bus Transport quietly shrinking. Local trains at crush capacity. It's clear the priority is not mobility, it’s concrete. Yes, more roads will definitely fix traffic this time👍 माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC Devendra Fadnavis

India is heading into extreme heat and we’re still cutting mangroves for non-compliant projects like #mumbaicoastalroad. Natural cooling systems destroyed, greener alternatives ignored. Mangroves are infrastructure, not obstacles. Ashwini Bhide Devendra Fadnavis this is a choice.

A lot of research now makes it clear it is the lack of planning (no trees, no water, no open green spaces) that is making Indian cities unlivable. Of course then climate change on top of all of this is hitting us harder than others.

A “green TDR” policy where private mangrove land is handed to the Maha Forest Official in exchange for development rights elsewhere - the same guys who are clearing 45,000+ mangroves for infra projects Protecting mangroves or centralising control so that they are easy to divert later?

While SoBo gets a forest, a community-built park in Versova with 250+ trees, including mature protected ones, is set to be destroyed for a flawed interchange design, despite expert-backed alternatives proposed by citizens. Why the double standards? Devendra Fadnavis Aaditya Thackeray
