We had the privilege of filming Sir Andrew Davis conduct Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra during the 2022 Edinburgh International Festival. This was the final image from that film. “Softly and gently, dearly-ransomed soul, In my most loving arms I now enfold thee…” Go well, Sir Andrew.

Agree with this from George Monbiot "Who should hold the next prime minister to account? Our best hope lies with the Green party" … and how I wish just a few more of those pledges were evident in The Labour Party's proposals! theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Oh wow – what immense range of colour, delicacy, fun and grandeur from Yunchan Lim playing Beethoven’s Emperor concerto at #bbcproms on @bbcradio3 just now. Musical equivalent of the gymnastics artistry on show in Paris earlier. He’s the real deal. (Shame it’s not on TV too!)
Late bus home after a staggering evening of American music from John Wilson and Sinfonia of London at BBC Proms. Calling them an all-star supergroup is entirely justified, but it takes a special alchemy to mine those depths in John Adams’s Harmonielehre. Watch again on BBC iPlayer
Bravo to the whole team including Phil Glenny, Melissa Probert and Thomas Aston for their work on these beautiful performance films for #BBCTenPieces – and to our partners on the project, including the brilliant Urbancroft Films, BBC Concert Orchestra , BBC Singers & BBC Philharmonic Orchestra
