Hey Governor Kathy Hochul, Staten Island CANNOT risk losing our protective wetlands. Over half of all NYC Hurricane Sandy deaths were on SI. What will happen during the next big storm? Don't allow the destruction of Graniteville Wetlands! #SaveGranitevilleWetlands Kathy Hochul

if an unelected body of 9 people can look at a centuries-old document and claim that the document gives landlords the right to evict people in the middle of a global pandemic we should get rid of both that unelected body and that centuries-old document

if youโ€™re watching the catastrophic storm that is about to hit louisiana from afar, a reminder that the state has lost ~2,000 sq mi of its coastal wetlands - a natural hurricane protection system - because of the fossil fuel industry

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani New York Post Mr. Mayor a hurricane is about to slam into New Orleans. As you've told Staten Island community members concerned for another Sandy, there's a gap btwn what they are saying & what DEC has said. Pls use your powers to stop work immediately, investigate, & #SaveGranitevilleWetlands

Not only are GhG emissions indisputably driving Hurricane Idaโ€™s intensity, but extractive industry in LA has devastated the wetlands that would have shielded residents from some of its effects. Fossil fuel capitalists are responsible for this & should be liable for the damage.
