Jake Mangum is what I feel the Pirates need. A contact guy with speed that get on at a decent clip (.330 OBP with nearly twice as many hits as strikeouts) and steal bags (27 a year ago). Not going to be a 20/20 or 30/30 guy, but could provide run scoring chances.

Now that Sidney Crosby is the Pittsburgh Penguins all-time leader in points, does that open the door to trade him before the deadline? That is, if the Penguins aren’t competing for a playoff spot.
