Long read but might show what many smaller services have been going through. Speaking for our ECCE only preschool but fully aware the fee freeze is making different models unsustainable too. No need to donate, please verify signature in email. Thank you chng.it/rsfP2LVgfr

sharononeill Fiona Treacy-Bowe The Federation of Early Childhood Providers ACP Ireland @BigStartIreland National Childhood Network Crann Support Group Seas Suas I've never had as many people look to book their child in as I did today...literally had people calling up to the door or phoning every 10 minutes. Why? Because 4 preschools told their parents they are closing forever in June. South County Dublin. It is hitting the fan now

Why is this happening Roderic O’Gorman TD as far as you say theres no problem we should all be able to run our businesses on €69 per child per week. Time for you to try it 😡😡

More comments from the petition. Genuinely unsure how a quality public model can arise when so many smaller services are struggling or closing due to becoming unsustainable. The biggest issue is historic & chronic underfunding 0.2% - one of the lowest in EU #itsnotrocketscience

Sinéad McGarry The state didn't privatise childcare it had no interest in it. Private providers interested in the sector invested at great financial risk to themselves. Mostly women and most were doing fine until gov stepped in & took control with underfunded schemes , now we are in crisis.

Government policy is seriously compromising the mental health of those working in Early Years both Staff and Providers repeatedly quoting high stress levels past few yrs. Policy has only addressed on parental fees but policy must remember staff & services. Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers #FECP

@MaryMag86999606 Colette Byrne @dcediy Roderic O’Gorman TD Millions to everything and we are to justify €4.60 per hr per child with two sets of accounts. Safe to say they absolutely detest ECEC providers. We are meant to be silent about their abominable treatment of us. Us Little women are meant to be quiet some things don't change 😡

Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers (@murphydunne) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Still pushing the Chart of Accounts on us. We are not in a position to do it. Funding offered to cover cost is not enough, it seems only a very small number of services are entitled to the €700 grant. How convenient is that @dcediy The Federation of Early Childhood Providers

Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers Louise Lawless @MaryMag86999606 Siobhan @dcediy The Federation of Early Childhood Providers Roderic O’Gorman TD Along with closures there is reduced service. Providers reducing numbers to reduce workload, only so many unpaid hrs a provider can do & with No funds for admin, no fund to share workload therefore cuts must be made. Every extra demand @dcediy make costs time. Time costs money!

Hear of another closure today medium service! what is @BigStartIreland going to do to save jobs in small to medium ECEC services. Closures can't be denied anymore. Huge waiting lists & services closing funding must be addressed. Too many educators will move to other sectors #ECEC

Well done Joseph j Duffy highlighting issues in ECEC. We have been fighting for survival for past two yrs and many have not made it. It has been horrendous. ECCE fees have been stuck since 2010. Many FDC stuck at 2017 The Federation of Early Childhood Providers #FailedEROfailedcorefunding #saveourservices

Now that Roderic O’Gorman TD admits he controls the funding for wages what is @BigStartIreland going to do about it. Time to go after the one that really holds the pursestrings. Staff and Providers united to hold this government to account The Federation of Early Childhood Providers Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers ACP Ireland #FECP

It is in their interest to engage with us. Much bigger issues are coming. Parents cannot get places. Parental choice is removed and service are being forced to close doors. We have solutions Will you meet with us urgently The Federation of Early Childhood Providers

Are you for real, sessional montessori only services sre receiving 69.50 a week for 15hrs for 1 child how are we to survive as a viable business on this, its a disgrace there is no other business in the country that would put up with this. 😡

Louise Lawless (@louisel15922234) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Why can"t government just listen to those on the ground, they think they have all the answers but so far they are not funding or have ever finded properly, the smaller businesses are on their knees 😡 Roderic O’Gorman TD Simon Harris TD

While families struggle to pay their bills, the elderly can’t afford to turn on the heat, and young couples can’t afford housing, our government is giving away hundreds of millions to countries that waste funds on military defense. This country is being run by idiots.
