The last quote from Hind Khoudary is such a punch to the gut. The betrayal of international media outlets and journalists is not just their silence and outright incitement to genocide, but also the exploitation of the very journalists they insight against.

My heart breaks every time I come across videos of Ismail laughing and playing with the children of Gaza to cheer them up throughout this genocide. He reported with them in the background, gave them his microphone so they could play, carried them around... An indescribable loss.

This is what western reporters and correspondents don't understand: journalists in Gaza are also paramedics, caretakers, aid workers, teachers... They are pillars in their community and children look to them for guidance and hope. Israel and the U.S. took that away from them.
