Interesting that (2019) report highlights 'substantial delay' of around 4 months. There are now several reports amongst the 15+ that we've waited well over a year for, including important ones on statelessness and Rwanda.

As Chair of the Independent Advisory Group on Country Information (2 of whose reports from the last year the Home Office is sitting on), Prof Collyer's work with Neal was crucial at ensuring that asylum cases had access to accurate country info.

The real story about the Indep Chief Inspector isn’t that he was sacked for referring to his own reports. He surely knew that would happen.

It’s that the Home Office has been sitting on his office’s work for a year, silencing him and blocking statutory function of indep reviews

Because God forbid that anyone criticises this government's inhumane policies or raise concerns about their safety and security. This was literally his job.

The inconvenient thing (for the Home Office) is the ICIBI is a post mandated by Parliament, so they can’t do away with it entirely. They’ll just stall reappointing for as long as possible to be able to carry out their fatally flawed immigration plans b4 the election
