Great to see Delhi’s Qutub Minar in the colors of Rwanda’s flag to mark the 30th anniversary of the genocide.

It would have been great (and, true solidarity - ‘never again’) if we criminalised genocide under domestic law following our obligations under the Genocide Convention.

I will never understand, and do not want to understand, the mental lives of people who can read about the record number of 'pediatric amputations' going on in Gaza right now and still think 'well, this is Very Complicated, let's not form any harsh or extreme judgments.'

Why PM Modi and EAM Jaishankar will try and stoke emotions on but won’t tell you what India got in return, including sovereignty over the strategic Wadge Bank, where the govt has only weeks ago invited bids for oil exploration, I write for newslaundry

1/ A truly, literally unbelievable post. Claiming that not a single civilian was killed by the IDF 'operation' is not even gaslighting. Israel (and this is the opposition, mind you) is collectively high on its own supply. Even were one to disregard the testimonies; --->

Today the Solicitor General argued that if the Supreme Ct didn’t stay an order of the Punjab & Haryana HC that set up a Special Investigation (SIT) to probe the killing of a young farmer by the police, it would demoralize the police! No stay thankfully.

Here’s Prof Bernstein, racist professor at a US law school, who thinks judges from the Global South (which “reeks of corruption”) are incapable of being objective, because they wanted a ceasefire. The Australian judge did too, but she’s white, sorry different!

Starvation in is now at the centre of the 🇮🇱 Genozide case. What’s the link? Starvation can „inflict on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction“. The court does not establish genocidal intent, but recognises risk of group destruction.

Although the International Court of Justice did not order a cessation of hostilities by Israel in Gaza as South Africa had requested (on the basis that Hamas is not a party to the proceedings), seven of the judges in their individual declarations called for suspension, at least.
