With the hot weather, there's no better place to work than the Cumberland tailwater! Brown trout numbers & sizes are improving, but expect to see good numbers of stock-sized fish while fishing. Sluice gates will be in operation 24/7 until further notice so use extra caution.

65/older or 15/younger? You can crossbow hunt for deer tomorrow. 16-64? Your crossbow season starts Sept. 21. While people 16-64 can get a special methods exemption to crossbow hunt deer during bow season, this permit is not necessary after the Sept. 21 general season opener.

Little bit late for #Kentucky's #acorn crop, unfortunately. Preliminary reports indicate meager mast production this year, with the exception of red oaks. If preliminary findings are supported by the numbers now being crunched, it will mean #deer will be on the move this fall.
