With access to Cane Creek being shut down due to damage sustained during the storms, trout stocking will not be occurring in June.

Thinking about fishing the Cumberland tailwater? We saw some nice fish in the area around the Rockhouse today, but water clarity is low. #FishKY

It's officially move in day for the newest class of Striped Bass in Lake Cumberland! Although they are small right now, these fish will be around 9 or 10 inches by November. Thank you to KY Fish Hatcheries, who make stockings like this possible each year! #FishKY

Water clarity has improved on the Cumberland Tailwater. Flows are still up during the weekdays, but expect lower flows Friday thru Sunday this weekend. With hot temps forecast, the tailwater will be the cool place to be. #FishKY

Just a heads up: work will be done on Hatchery Creek July 7 & 8 to provide vegetation control and beaver dam removal. The creek will remain open to the public during the project, but be advised there will be heavy equipment in operation so use caution in the area.

It was a multi group effort this week on Green River Lake helping put out fish habitat structures. You can find locations of structures at Green River Lake and other lakes across the states by checking out fw.ky.gov and search for lakes with fish attractors.

Cedar tree cutting will begin this week on Meadow Creek WMA. This project will create better habitat for wildlife, and the trees will be used in Lake Cumberland to create new fish habitat in Beaver Creek this fall. It's a win-win situation when we work across divisions!

The Lake Linville boat ramp will be temporarily closed and unavailable for public use starting October 27, 2025. In partnership with the City of Mount Vernon, a new ramp and a rock reef are being constructed. We will update when it reopens. facebook.com/share/p/1CkuND…

It wasn't the best day to be out on the lake but getting crappie like this sure helped make it better. Water temps on Lake Cumberland are running 63 degrees, and lake levels are continuing to drop for the winter drawdown.

The Cedar Creek Lake drawdown is well underway. The lake is down approximately 3.5 feet since mid-November, and shallow water bank areas are already getting exposed.

Cedar Creek Lake drawdown update. The lake is down around 5.5 feet and getting good bank exposure. While not popular with most people, cold temperatures will help with the vegetation control, so we are hoping Mother Nature cooperates.

Your Christmas tree can keep giving long after the holidays are over. Donate your real, undecorated tree at any of the drop off locations across the state and it will be used to create fish habitat in local water bodies. For more information check out tinyurl.com/yeu2rpk3

Cedar Creek Lake is still covered in ice as of 2/13. The forecast rain and warmer temps will help melt it, so hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Walleye broodstock collection in snow squalls: 1/10, would not recommend. But at least we picked up some fish. Water temps were running in the low 50s, and we weren't seeing many bass in shallow.
