“The future of transportation will not be found in a single mode or mobility solution. Instead, it will be a complex, interconnected set of practices and technologies, and this series brings them together in one place.” cts.umn.edu/research/featu…

The Katy freeway in Texas is the logical conclusion of the status quo approach to transportation in America. The state will be adding even more lanes this summer to “improve mobility and safety in the area.” Clearly past attempts have been successful.😔 😕

BEFORE 3PM TODAY, sign PRO for repealing harmful jaywalking laws! Repeal the state law that makes it illegal to cross mid-block and creates provisions that give pedestrians the right to cross where and when it’s convenient and safe, with due care. tinyurl.com/2pjhe7lr

Beautiful transformation in Makati, Philippines. This street is now safer for people walking, rolling, and driving alike due to simple infrastructure changes designed to slow motor vehicles.

college is sometimes the only 4 years Americans experience car free spaces, mass transit, density and bike friendly commuting. no wonder they always have fond memories and miss it

Under NHTSA’s current proposal, a vehicle could receive a failing grade for pedestrian crashworthiness, but still earn a five-star safety rating. Vehicle safety standards that save the lives of people outside cars shouldn’t be left to consumer choice. p2a.co/PaNxutw

Grand opening of Kirkland, Washington’s new bike and ped bridge connecting Totem Lake and downtown Kirkland and points beyond. 👏 Props to Claudia Balducci and Eastrail Partners for helping connect the region with safe and sustainable infrastructure. Great to see so many people valeting with us!

🚴🚶‍♀️The Totem Lake Bridge for the Cross Kirkland Corridor opened, which is an occasion for me to sketch an idea brewing in my mind for a while now. 🍻 🗺️ Presenting a map of breweries and taprooms serving local craft beer along the regional trails around Lake Washington.

This is what a city-backed activation and investment can do to a city. Why not downtown Kirkland? Kirkland, Washington , please bring businesses and residents together for shared solutions to Park Lane and beyond. Jon Pascal and Jay Arnold please stay true to the vision and policy.

Tell NHTSA you want a vehicle safety rating system that better tests and shares the real risk that vehicles pose to pedestrians. 🙏 Salud America! saludamerica.salsalabs.org/realrisk/index… Or, if you want to leave your own comment or learn more: regulations.gov/document/NHTSA…

"The 17 parking spaces along Park Lane are insignificant when compared to the amount of parking available on nearby streets, including the city-owned Lake & Central lot, which is directly on Park Lane." Thanks, Ryan Packer theurbanist.org/2023/07/18/kir…

A “road diet” is when the number of lanes on a road are reduced to improve safety for people driving, walking, and biking alike, while also providing space for different forms of transportation. Send us a road that could use a diet!
