Historic Mt Olivet Cemetery (Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, DC) had acres of paved roads & therefore runoff fees & flooding. Enter: @Nature_DCMDVA. Implementing numerous green infrastructure elements lowered fees/runoff & beautified the area. They earned the #CanopyAward for Sustainability🏆💛

Trustees from across the Conservancy attended the Volunteer Leadership Summit in D.C. last week. The MD/DC chapter happily facilitated several field trips, including a boat tour of the Anacostia River and a Forest Bathing hike. Thanks to all who made these trips possible!

Mt. Olivet Cemetery received 2nd place for best BMP retrofit in the 2021 BUBBAS. With impervious area removal, tree plantings & green infrastructure, the project now captures about 5 mil gallons of runoff per year! nature.ly/38NuTln
