There are several things that trouble me about this tweet from the CEO of Humanists UK. Not least, talking about the value of ‘honest and informed debate’ and then ignoring replies from people with lived experience of the issues under consideration.

Prof Katherine Sleeman Couldnt agree more. It’s a truly powerful cry for better use of resources, listening, respecting a person’s wishes. Honestly, what are we (medics) here for if not this?
Dementia Journeys Science Gallery London is open! 🥳
So great to be there yesterday and see people being drawn in by the art and interactive elements.

This is a really thoughtful piece by Nicola Sturgeon on assisted dying. It's strikingly nuanced, which took me by surprise given disagreements on gender & lack of nuance in that debate. Did not have agreeing with her on assisted dying on my bingo card!

This has not been remedied. Dignity in Dying has an almost completely pink map, which they say represents people who *would* want their MP to vote for assisted dying, but their own stats say only 43% of people do want this
“In seeking to make things easier for those who wish to die, we must never make them more difficult for those who require our help to live”
Good editorial on assisted dying / assisted suicide in The Times today (h/t Prof. Mark Taubert)
