My letter in The Observer ⬇️

Concerns about how to introduce assisted dying safely must be a motivator to get law change right, not a reason to persist with an unsafe, unjust and cruel blanket ban.

“Medical aid in dying is not me choosing to die. I am going to die. But it is my way of having a little bit more control over what it looks like in the end.”

People want a better, safer, kinder law for dying people.

“It was a good death. I’ll defend his right to do it – and my helping him – until the end.”

Barbara's husband Adrian had an assisted death.

Every dying person should have the choice of a death as calm as Adrian’s. But no one should have to travel hundreds of miles to do so.
