Multiple Chicago schools went on lockdown today because of ICE, including my son’s and the one I’m on the council of. Spent the last two hours standing outside, trying to make sure nothing happens to these kids. This is horrible.

FACTS: There have been 331 homicides so far this year in Chicago, a city of 2.71 million people. This is, by a large margin, the lowest number in years; 120 fewer deaths than last year so far. Summer 2025 in particular saw the lowest number of murders for the city since 1965.
