BBC News (UK) Dr Elisa Perego Oh dear - if only people - yes including you BBC News (UK) - had taken note when 5 years ago we said Covid causes long term damage making everyone more vulnerable & damaging all organs - perhaps we wouldn’t be here now…

A village is rejoicing after a beloved 150-year-old oak tree was spared from being chopped down. Residents of Cowfold have been locked into a lengthy battle to save a 150-year-old oak tree they have christened “Oakley”. theargus.co.uk/news/24888332.…

"Proponents of Heathrow expansion are in many influential positions within the Labour Party, which is why it's crucial that Rachel Reeves listens to independent climate experts before reaching a decision"- Mike Childs, Friends of the Earth's head of policy.news.sky.com/story/green-gr…

The idea that we have to choose between economic prosperity and safeguarding our children’s future is nonsense - Reeves is chasing headlines with her Heathrow announcement but it will trash her Govt’s own emissions targets and won’t do anything to make people’s lives better

History will not be kind to our Labour Govt. And I think neither will voters at the next GE. This is such a stupid statement from Reeves. It is *exactly* the sort of environmentally ignorant attitude that has brought us to this point in our #ClimateCrisis.

Yes, someone who can talk directly to Reeves and Starmer please explain that we need Nature for us to survive. It's not just nice to have in the garden, it's vital for human life. Are you listening The Labour Party UK Prime Minister ?

Most nature depleted country in Europe yet the Gov gives the go ahead to a major development adj to one of the most important wildlife sites in Worcs. Home to important populations of White Admiral, White-letter Hairstreak, Silver-washed Fritillary & Purple Emperor. 🤬

We were disheartened to hear Rachel Reeves speech on planning reform where she singled out newts as the cause for planning delays. Housing & nature do not have to be pitched against each other! Nature can, & should be, part of the solution. More: ow.ly/pLh050UUUUB

Today I'm at a hedgelaying competition (as a spectator!) in Cambridge on Martin Lines farm They're laying a young maiden hedge. This will thicken it right out from the base, make it a lot more robust, better for wildlife etc Also a great time to get those damn spirals removed

While honeybees often get the spotlight, wild pollinators like bumblebees, butterflies, and beetles are just as vital for ecosystems and food security, helping pollinate crops and sustain biodiversity. 🦋 🪲 🪰 Learn more with this infographic below by Dr. Katlyn Catron⬇️

Autoimmune diseases like lupus, MS, and Type 1 diabetes are spiking post-COVID. Research suggests viral infections may trigger immune dysregulation, and long-COVID is a real, ongoing crisis. But where’s the conversation about supporting immune resilience instead of waiting for

1 simple but powerful action you can take this #AmphibianWeek is to avoid using garden chemicals. Amphibians absorb substances through their skin, making them especially vulnerable to pesticides. Choosing natural alternatives helps keep our species thriving. 💚
