Queer and trans people have different lived experiences and health needs compared to our cis and straight counterparts. Stripping funding from these projects will only exacerbate discrimination and unmet healthcare needs for us.

It’s not a surprise but still disappointing and frustrating. I blocked out information since I am only co-I, but our grant on substance use among sexual minority young adults was terminated today. You can “terminate” grants, but you can’t erase this group. The work will continue.

Mark Peifer The sweep is broad -- but overwhelmingly the theme seems to be grants that study LGBTQ+ health. We need to articulate loud and clear that the health of queer folks matters and is worth investing in. The signals this administration are sending are so dangerous.
