Heavy rain can’t stop the Rutland community from bringing gifts to honor Ofc. Jessica Ebbighausen. The candlelight vigil may have been cancelled, but a tent now stands to try and protect the flowers, teddy bears, and notes through the storm. Vigil rescheduled for Wed. at 6pm.

State Street and Main Street in Montpelier are now mostly submerged. Those in the area have been urged to find higher ground. The Winooski River is just a few feet away from spilling onto Berlin Street. Call 2-1-1 or 9-1-1 if you’re in need of assistance.

As of 10:45 PM the Winooski river in Montpelier is up to 20.88. It surpasses Irene's total of 19.05 ft set back in August 2011. Major flooding in the city of Montpelier is occurring because of it. It's forecasted to peak later tonight at 22.40 ft.
