Also yesterday: USG tells Americans to leave DRC due to protests. Knowing more about the Ebola outbreak potentially happening in DRC is key to the safe evacuation of Americans.

I spoke with the NYT about the damning evidence we uncovered against RFK Jr. while making my latest film. As we show in the film, RFK Jr. played a significant role in a tragic measles outbreak in Samoa that led to 83 deaths, mostly amongst children. nytimes.com/2025/01/28/us/…

In this piece I’m quoted about the fact that there’s no evidence that different racial groups should be on different vaccinations schedules. Such unfounded assertions can drive vaccine hesitancy apnews.com/article/rfk-jr…

I am disheartened that several CDC webpages are currently down. I hope this is just a temporary pause. Infectious diseases don't take breaks. The American taxpayers who paid for these data deserve the ability to access the lifesaving information derived from these data.

Organizations that provide life-saving humanitarian aid deserve clarity from Department of State — not additional chaos and confusion. I call on Secretary Marco Rubio to rescind the federal foreign aid freeze so we can promote American national security and interests.

“People might think ‘It’s just a data set,” said Dawes. “It’s more than a data set, it’s years and years of collecting data, analyzing data, and putting it into a format that communities can use, literally, to extend their lives.” statnews.com/2025/02/01/cdc…

No one elected Elon Musk. As Donald Trump allows Musk to access people’s personal information and shut down government funding, Republicans in Washington will also own the consequences. We must do everything in our power to push back and protect people from harm.

Whether or not you care about foreign aid, you should be very worried about what DOGE is doing to USAID right now. Breaching highly classified systems and unlawfully attempting to unilaterally dissolve an independent federal agency. This is a test run. 🧵

Adding to this— the unelected employees have multiple on-going business interests with foreign governments. And they are attempting to access classified information. This has major national security implications.

More evidence that Epstein-Barr virus infection is implicated in multiple sclerosis onset. That’s why our work ARPA-H to eliminate herpesviruses, to include EBV, is so critical. Follow our teams at Institute for Protein Design and La Jolla Institute for more!
