If you do live in the US then I'm sure you're fully aware, but a reminder that IUDs have a less than 1% failure rate and will last the length of a presidency.

This is the response. People have been ignored for too long and denied of options. If that's ignored then when an escape route comes along, however depraved, dangerous & unlikely, they'll take it. Weirdly an equivalent of what's happening in the English channel, actually.

History will remember and judge harshly that we stood by and did nothing in the face of ethnic cleansing. Worse, that we actively armed a regime engaging in war crimes when their intentions were clear all along. We need to get used it. We most definitely are not the good guys.

Looking for upsides, Hollywood's cinema output is going to be wild over the next 4 years. The thing with a someone elected by an overwhelmingly uneducated voter base is their supporters often don't get the subtle jokes so you can play to both sides of the aisle at the same time.

RIP Peggy. June Spencer was on The Archers from 1951 (9 years before Coronation Street first ever aired), all the way up to just 2 years ago. She was a soap star for longer than any soap other than the Archers even existed. An astonishing legacy. bbc.com/news/articles/…

Autistic 15yr old just found it amusing our order number is 69. Upon questioning she informed me "69 is the funny number. You wouldn't get it." My worry is she thinks it funny for same reason I do, but I can't admit I'm so puerile. I also don't want to have 'the conversation'.

Not everything needs updating. Some bits of software are fine as they are and should be just labelled as completed and then just left alone.

Trump made very specific promises about bringing widespread, dramatic DEflation — not just ending major inflation, which has already happened. It was the reason he was elected, and he needs to be held accountable to those promises.

Christ. Thing is we've known for years. Decades. What a total bin fire the US is in terms of basic civilisation. They've been offered hope by so many Presidents only for each to not really change much. I guess it was only a matter of time before they voted for an extreme.

This is vaguely credible. Certainly way more than idiotic suggestion it should be Farage. Partly Johnson doesn't really have any firm political principles himself, so at least he wouldn't be likely to try and malignly influence foreign policy. He is also liked in the States.

James O'Flynn Fesshole🧻 Well apart from the obvious local church, I'd 100% recommend foodcycle There are approx 100 hubs in England & Wales creating a 3 course community meal using supermarket surplus food every week. Guests range across those in food poverty or who are lonely or want to reduce waste

Profound, thoughtful & respectful call in on BBC Radio 5 Live Nicky Campbell about the poppy, wearing it or not, what it represents & means to people. Eloquent, heartfelt, but tolerant views all round. Discussions like this revive my faith in the values of people in this country.

Doesn't it highlight the brutality & senselessness of it all, that it was known there would be an armistice. It had been decided. Yet the guns continued to fire up to a pre-designated minute on a specific date. The end of the war that was supposed to end all wars. #ArmisticeDay

"Food distribution hubs" is interesting wording to describe a large scale operation intended to address the issue that one of the wealthiest nations on earth has an awful lot of people who can't afford to eat.

Guys, Sainsbury's. What changes have you made to this product? As a parent of an autistic child & someone not necessarily proud to admit Nectar informed us we are the number of buyer of this product in Huddersfield it is embarrassingly important to us that these are right.
