In my lifetime Arthur’s quay park has gone from somewhere you’d avoid, to being a place that’s regularly full of people and families enjoying it. Please resist any plan that cuts it in half to make a shopping centre bigger

Farron Flaherty 🇮🇪 🇹🇼 An Garda Síochána Limerick Council - Comhairle Luimnigh The lights at Bobby Byrnes sometimes skip a pedestrian cycle altogether. And the next set of lights are 450m away at Mallow St. A pedestrian priority / demand-driven set on every block would provide natural enforcement of the urban 30km/h speed limit.

One selfish driver outside Scoil Mhathair De causing car traffic chaos in all directions this morning. They did have their hazards on mind 👍👍. Walk/cycle times unaffected 🙂 but frustrated drivers are typically less observant 👀 Where is the #SCR #Limerick Active Travel plan?

No need to ever open it again, lads. Pedestrianising Little William Street would make the entire city centre better and more attractive to visitors and residents, especially visitors, at the stroke of a pen. Make it forever, not just seven hours.

Storms will be more powerful and more frequent as the global average temperature continues to climb as a result of human activities. We can vote on Friday for the politicians who are brave enough to do the right things to protect us all, restore nature, and reduce emissions.

Closing the O'Connell Street bus lane would be an immensely backward step for Limerick Council to take. It's incredibly disappointing that some local councillors continue to push the idea. This cannot be allowed to happen. limerickleader.ie/news/business/…

A popular vote seems a cruel way to decide if people should have to stand waiting 5 or 10 minutes longer for a bus in the depths of December. Those voting to scrap the bus lane will pass those waiting while in the comfort of their cars. Shameful stuff #Limerick, simply shameful. x.com/LimerickCounci…

Nearly 4 out of every 10 road deaths in 2024 was of a vulnerable road user. Pedestrians and cyclists need an urgent push from @fiannafailpartyand Fine Gael in the new Programme for Government to fund and accelerate delivery of active travel infrastructure to reverse this trend.

Some things to remember when we see the draft PFG re #ClimateCrisis: 🔥 the world is on fire and we need to urgently end our dependence and use of fossil fuels 🔥 “staying the course” ie no backsliding is tantamount to failure as we are not on track to meeting 2030 targets by a

To the incoming Irish government: Abandoning the 2:1 public/active transport investment ratio is a grave mistake. Active and public transport saves lives, cuts emissions, improves health, and reduces healthcare costs. Investing in roads over people is a step backwards!

This is so sad. We have had a few near misses as drivers very frequently run red lights. I have had to reteach my kids that the green man doesn't mean go. It means wait to see if the cars actually stop.

Kites being flown abt raising the costs of public transport. This would be a ridiculous & retrograde step & will put ppl off public transport esp intercity trains which are already pricey. Paschal Donohoe Roderic O’Gorman TD @TodaywithClaire
