Will Ratcliff I have felt a pretty profound shift. I visit places and actually many trainees feel a strong need to have a translational component to their work. I worry that we have devalued curiosity driven work as a society.

I get the outrage. I’m enraged. But there’s nothing special about professors. Brutalizing anyone —a department chair, a 5y/o in Gaza, a protesting student, a houseless person— should be met with the same response, the same shock, pain, and anger. These lives are of equal value.
