Beautiful study showing how capturing the transcriptional response of cancer to many drugs can help classify the drugs by their activity in cells in ways that are sometimes non-intuitive from chemical structure alone!

Our latest, by the brilliant Xiaoyi Li, out in Cell, leverages a new method for mapping genomic locations of reporters to discover massive chromatin effects on prime editing (PE). We then use 'epigenetic conditioning' to enhance PE. Paper: tinyurl.com/5n8d9mh2

Funny how when you collect data you are happy when it is bigger but when you analyze it you wish it were smaller.

Very excited about this. Richard and I have a chance to share some pretty cool options to unleash science. Come check it out and try it out. Feels more like what we all came into science for… and a good product of all your collective minds.

Curious whether any drug (or mutation) with a <10% lifespan increase in worms has shown a significant effect in mice - ? My sense is no, but I don't have the data

++. These journal charges are robbery, sure, but if the cost of a bunch of reviewer experiments were <$10K (materials and labor), I'd be ecstatic. Also, the labor cost of all the forms and checklists probably comes out to far more. Moreover, we can change those things. So let's.

Memory genes are enriched in CAR T cells that persist and control tumors in patients. But which transcription factors drive beneficial memory programs?

We answer this in our lab’s first paper in nature led by Alex Doan Kat Mueller, PhD Andy Chen. 1/

💡 Tip: After reading a paper, condense it into a 1-2 sentence summary in your own words. Add this note to the paper in your reference manager.

Over time, you'll be able to identify the foundational papers, authors, and ideas in your field, as well as recall specific papers. 🔎

What are some options for cages for microscopes? OKOlab is one, anything else? There's always the machine shop if it comes to that. Any advice would be appreciated!

The importance of breakthroughs originating from university research is well appreciated.

What is harder to quantify & appreciate is the research training.
◼️ It is an exceptional contribution that universities are uniquely focussed on and positioned to deliver.
