Here's a prototype of our lunar coring device design for the NASA Micro-g NExT challenge and use of it with an underwater drill from Nemo Power Tools! We're excited for machined parts to start coming in to produce a finalized design.

We're in the process of conducting our final post-NBL tests! Here's a behind-the-scenes peek at our initial reactions earlier today (albeit an obscured peek due to the Nemo Power Tools underwater drill we accidentally set in front of the camera)

That's a wrap! We have concluded testing of our final prototype of the Geoselenic Retrieval Utility. It performed within our expectations, and we now have a clear view of what modifications we will recommend for consideration by NASA's Johnson Space Center and NASA JPL

Micro-g 2021-2022 has officially started! This years project manager is Harriet Hunt (Harriet Hunt) and the team is going to pursue the lunar bag dispenser challenge! 🎉🌖🔨

Micro-g has started to develop prototypes! A lot of work still needs to be done but we are on track to finish our proposal before the end of October

The Illinois Space Society’s Micro-g NExT team has officially been selected by NASA to proceed to Phase II of the challenge! Undergraduate students from 40 teams across the United States proposed innovative design solutions to challenges focused on lunar surface spacewalks.

Our 2022-23 MicroG NExT team has officially decided on our tool name and challenge! ZEUS (Zip-Tie EVA Utility System) will be aiming to assist astronauts on the ISS by automatically installing/fastening zip ties on a variety of surfaces outside the station.

The 2022-2023 Micro-G team has officially submitted their proposal! Big thanks to all the team members involved! Onto the next step! 💫
